General Continuing Education Information

South Carolina law requires doctors of chiropractic to obtain 36 hours of continuing education every two years. The current cycle ends September 30, 2018. Of the 36 required hours of continuing education, two hours are required in rules and regulations of the SC Board of Chiropractic Examiners and two hours in risk management which includes, but is not limited to, boundary or public health issues. A maximum of 18 hours can be taken online.

SCCA Courses and Convention

The SCCA strives to bring quality continuing education to the doctors of South Carolina. The SCCA Annual Convention gives you the opportunity to receive up to 32 hours of CE, as well as all 4 of the required State Board hours.

SC Rules & Regulations Online Examination

The South Carolina Board of Chiropractic Examiners is pleased to offer an online examination to obtain the required two (2) hours of continuing education (CE) on South Carolina Rules & Regulations. CLICK HERE to take the exam. This link takes you directly to the SC Board of Chiropractic Examiners's website. You will be prompted to login with your LLR- username and password. Please do not use your SCCA member username and password as it will not allow you access.

Chiropractic Radiography Assistant Online Course

Chiropractic Assistants may now take the Radiography Certification course online through York Technical College. You must call the Corporate and Continuing Education Division Office at York Tech to register for the course at 803-325-2888, option #1- Health and Human Services.

Once you have completed this required 48-hour online course, you still must contact the SCCA Office at 803-772-9376 to enroll for the Certification Exam. Exams will be given several times a year when the minimum number of applicants is met, and cost is $145 (fee subject to change in 2019).

The next Chiropractic Assistant Limited Certification Radiography exam will be offered on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the SCCA office.

The ACRRT also publishes a study guide to prepare for the exam. Cost is $75 plus $5 shipping and handling. To order the study guide, call the SCCA Office at 803-772-9376. CLICK HERE for the Study Guide form. Current ACRRT Study Guide is gray with a publication date of 2016.

Unfortunately, this online course and the SCCA’s classroom X-ray certification course cannot be interchanged. Once you register for either class, it must be completed in the original registered format to receive credit. For example, if you register for the classroom version and miss a module, the module cannot be "made up” online. Also, you cannot take individual modules of this online course. It must be taken in its entirety.
