Please find below helpful information on the format change schedule.

How will hotel room reservations be cancelled?
Reservations made at the Kingston Resort will be automatically cancelled. To confirm cancellation, please call1-800-876-0010.

What about in-person or live CE Credits?
All hours offered will qualify for live face-to-face credit in South Carolina!

Because the SCCA already had our classes approved for in-person credit, any hours we now do online would fit into the exemption the Board of Examiners adopted this Spring:
  • “In light of the current dangers posed by person-to-person interaction, the SC Board of Chiropractic Examiners will accept any live-streamed rendition of a prior-approved continuing education program to meet the face-to-face requirements.”
We will still be offering at least 32 hours in quality continuing education—all of which will count for live credits in South Carolina. These will include the required hours for Rules & Regulations and Risk Management.

For North Carolina licensees, live-streamed content will count towards in-person hours for 2020 so North Carolina licensees can meet all requirements through the SCCA Virtual Convention.

For all other states, our convention is approved for credit, but you will need to check with the respective licensing board for online vs. in-person requirements. We will be happy to assist you in doing so.

Will I receive a refund?
All cancellations must be received in writing. Refunds are available throughJuly 15, 2020.No refunds will be granted after that time.

Why did the SCCA decide to cancel the meeting?
We must abide by any restrictions from state government, local government, our insurer, and the hotel. We made a number of changes over the past month including reducing the number of speakers to accommodate the hotel’s distancing restrictions. Some hotels have banned groups from any networking or meal activities if they go forward with their conferences. Although Kingston has not given us this restriction, we would have no control if they did do so prior to our event.
Local health experts and officials have advised against an in person convention. The CDC currently places events like ours at the Highest Risk Category. They define that category as follows:
  • Highest risk:Large in-person gatherings where it is difficult for individuals to remain spaced at least 6 feet apart and attendees travel from outside the local area.
South Carolina is in the top for highest positive cases in the country and continuing to increase and Myrtle Beach, specifically, has become a hotspot. Doctors and exhibitors have expressed great concern in recent weeks, resulting in an uncharacteristically low number of prospective attendees, a number that continues to decline. Given the anticipated reduction in attendees and exhibitors combined with the increasing restrictions, it is highly likely that the SCCA could have sizable financial losses.
The SCCA is confident we can bring you quality education in a flexible setting while avoiding uncertainties from both a financial and safety perspective.

How will I access the classes and materials?
You will be able to access classes from your computer, smart phone, or iPad device. All materials will be available on the SCCA website. The SCCA will send more information on accessing including log-in information to all registrants as the convention approaches.

What should I do about my travel?
Travel arrangements made for this meeting are your responsibility to cancel. Please contact the airline or booking agent as soon as possible. If you need proof of the in-person event cancellation for these purposes, please let us know.

What if I am an exhibitor?
Exhibitors are what make our conventions tick! We value our relationships and will be contacting each of you directly on virtual opportunities.
